OPLITE Seat Decals: Turn a Plain Shell into Your Racing Rig

The back of an OPLITE bucket seat is one of the biggest visible surfaces on a sim rig. Its raised centre, shoulder contours and curved side panels give it a distinctive shape—and give a racing livery room to make an impact. A decal kit can turn that plain shell into a focal point, without replacing the seat you already use.

Is it a straightforward first sticker project? No: this is a demanding kit. But many Lovely Stickers customers have successfully fitted it. The key is to choose the right seat template and approach those sculpted surfaces patiently. Here is what makes this seat family different, which models we cover and what a finished installation can look like.

Why this rear shell is so recognisable

Look at the seat from behind. Instead of one gently curved panel, you see a raised vertical section, a shoulder-level contour and deeper shapes towards the lower back. These changes in level are the important visual clues when comparing your seat with a kit photo.

The current OPLITE RS2 FiberCore Suedine is a useful example. OPLITE specifies a reinforced four-layer fibreglass structure, suede-like upholstery and five harness openings. Its fabric-covered edges frame an exposed rear shell, which is the surface the decoration changes. The kit decorates the shell; it is not a replacement upholstery cover.

Related sculpted shapes appear on seats from NRG, Nitro Concepts and other brands. That family resemblance helps you know where to look, but the exact model still matters. Neither a similar silhouette nor a shared mounting measurement identifies every contour of the vinyl template.

Which seats can use the OPLITE/NRG kit?

Our OPLITE GTR/GT and NRG FRP-300 collection is the starting point for these models:

  • OPLITE GT/GTR-style bucket seats matching the shape pictured on the product page.
  • NRG FRP-300. This is the specific NRG model covered by the collection; NRG identifies it as a large fibreglass bucket seat.
  • Nitro Concepts R300 and OPLITE RS2 FiberCore: Lovely Stickers has tested and approved the existing OPLITE/NRG kit on both models.

For a 6Sigma GTR Large, use the dedicated 6Sigma kit. Its listing excludes the Halo and Diamond Stitch versions. If your seat has another reference, send a rear photo and the model name through our Contact page before ordering.

Why the harness openings are not pre-cut

We never pre-cut the harness openings in our seat decal kits. Their shape and position can vary from one seat to another, even within the same brand. A fixed opening in the printed vinyl could therefore land in the wrong place on an otherwise suitable shell.

The close-up above shows how much is happening around just one pair of openings: plastic surrounds, a central ridge and a curved shoulder section. Our policy concerns the openings in the vinyl. It is not an instruction to alter the seat shell.

A difficult installation—with real customer results

A wheel face is often fairly flat. This seat is not. The vinyl has to follow changes in direction, and an alignment decision near the centre affects how the design sits further out. That is why we describe this as one of our more demanding kits and recommend professional application on the product pages.

Many customers have nevertheless completed their own installations. The blue Manthey-inspired seat in the cover photo is a real example shared on our Instagram, not a catalogue mock-up. Notice how the dark centre and blue panels emphasise the shell’s contours, with the decoration continuing onto the side. It shows what a completed project can look like; the post does not document the tools, time or experience involved.

Before starting, read the exact kit instructions and our bucket-seat decal application guide. Lay out the pieces with their backing still on and identify how they relate to the shell. The kit instructions specify a clean, dry surface and working from the centre towards the sides; check alignment before committing the larger pieces. Air-release vinyl helps with bubbles, but the contours still require care. These are adhesive decals, not reusable covers.

Choose a livery that works with the whole rig

The 2025 Porsche 911 GT3R Manthey Racing design uses bright blue side areas against a dark centre. On this shaped shell, that contrast makes the rear profile easy to read. It is a strong choice if you want the seat itself to be the main visual feature.

For a different mood, the GT3 Cup Porsche 2021 design combines silver graphics with a red stripe. It gives you a simpler colour direction to carry through a wheel, base or other details of the cockpit.

Before choosing, look at the rig from the room entrance as well as from the driving position. Is the back of the seat fully visible, or close to a wall? Do you want the colours to echo an existing wheel design, or make the seat stand out? Those everyday views are more useful than picking a livery from a thumbnail alone.
